Loose puppy delays flights at La Guardia Airport

This dog is ready for take-ARF!

Departures were held at La Guardia Airport for 10 minutes this morning while workers collect the dog ran to the runway.

The dog, a 30-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy named Byrdie, get loose when he was being loaded onto a Delta flight to Memphis, said Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico.

"Byrdie out of his cage and decided that the Runway 31 would be the best place to get some exercise," said Marsico.

Port Authority personnel to run after it, and at one point, Byrdie just sitting on the runway.

Finally, the workers got off the plane Byrdie owner, and took him to the ground. "Byrdie come true for him," said Marsico.
