Steelers won't keep Hines Ward

The Pittsburgh Steelers, with a quick run Hines Ward list extra-approaching, decided not to keep the veteran receiver, the NFL Network reported, citing anonymous sources.

Ward, who lost his job from 2011, was scheduled to make $ 4 million in the last two years of his contract, but said he was willing to accept a wage cut.

A decision is required until March 1 to satisfy a clause in his contract.

"I am thinking of playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and go from there," Ward said last Thursday during Super Bowl week.

Speaking at the Press Center in Indianapolis, Ward called reports about his possible retirement "rumors", reiterating that want to play next season.

Ask if you wanted to play three, four or five years, the Ward 35-year-old laughed and said: "I do not know about this time."
