Red Sox and Patriots have handed out some serious heartbreak for Bostonians too late. Fortunately, the inimitable romantic charm of Kevin Youkilis is about to change everything.
Youkilis - Red Sox third Baseman alternately known as "Greek God of Walks" and "the bald guy who is always on the DL" - is engaged to Julie Brady, sister of the Pats quarterback.
The love missive comes courtesy of The Boston Globe, which reported Friday that the couple has been together for a "maybe" one year. This will be Youkilis second wedding, even if the first marriage - in 2008 - was apparently never officially. Julie Brady has a five-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
The item was on Boston.com 's front page Friday afternoon, a picture of Julie sitting out click-ins for "How to avoid Valentine's Day" and "Send Valentine's Day horror stories."
Youkilis was seen on the field with Brady family during the Patriots' Saturday team photo session prior to their Super Bowl XLVI loss to the Giants.
Of course already Youkilis made his first mistake of the year. Had he persevered in popping the question until Tuesday, would ring acted as an optimal Valentine's Day gift. Now he must go back to the jewelry store. Brutal.
