An old Twin Cities radio personality and track stand, who went by the name "Dark Star" has died.
Radio KFAN program director Chad Abbott Minnetonka police told him Friday that officers found George Chapple, who has worked at the station, dead in his apartment. Police say they are not investigating suspicious death.
Chapple worked for WCCO-AM for 25 years prior to the acquisition in 2010. He then joined KFAN.
WCCO-AM program director Bob Shomper (SHAHM'-PUR) says the 66-year Chapple "can be a bit off-color, one man who got away, and even respect."
Chapple has also worked for the Canterbury Park, Shakopee (SHAHK'-uh-pee) Course opened in 1985. He hosted the night show, replays, and there was a media relations consultant in the field.
