The American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) has planned four events on Tuesday to discuss an expected decision on Proposition 8, California's gay marriage ban.

A 10:30 AM press conference in Los Angeles will include co-advisor Theodore B. Olson, AFER Board President Chad Griffin, and plaintiffs Kris Perry & partner Sandy Stier and Paul Khatami concerning and partner Dominick Zarrillo.
The long awaited decision from the ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is expected to be published at 10:00.
Proposition 8 was narrowly approved by California voters in November 2008. The amendment overturned a California Supreme Court ruling that legalized gay marriage in the state.
Having now retired U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker declared the law unconstitutional in 2010, advocates for change appealed.
Today's decision is expected to be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
AFER will hold a national media conference with co-lawyer Theodore B. Olson and David Boies at 11:45 AM.
In a 05:00 press conference at Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco, the San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera participate AFER members.
And AFER founding directors Dustin Lance Black, and Rob Reiner will participate in a 17:00 social gathering at the Los Angeles City Hall Rotunda. Also participating will be Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and representatives from The Courage Campaign, Equality California, Equal Roots Coalition, FAIR, freedom to marry, Jordan / Rustin Coalition LA Gay & Lesbian Center, Latino Equality Alliance, Marriage Equality USA and others.
