Stony Who? NY team heads to College World Series

The Stony Brook University baseball team to take a pit stop back at New York University before embarking on the first College World Series in Nebraska.

The unheralded Seawolves upset Louisiana State University, a six-time national champion and earn a trip to Omaha later this week.

The Seawolves in the New York State first team to reach the College World Series since 1980 and the first team in the north-eastern Maine, since 1986.

The campus, 60 miles east of Long Island, Manhattan, plans to welcome the team on Monday afternoon at a rally at the university.

The team played in Division III, the last in 1995, is set to UCLA in the first round of the World Series starting on Friday.
