Feast of Virgin of Guadalupe Celebrated at OLA Cathedral

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday.

The festivities marked the 480th Anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

According to traditional accounts, the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared before the Aztec peasant in 1531, and asked him to persuade the Catholic leaders to build a church for her into the mountains near Mexico City.

If these leaders wanted to prove, the man brought them to the place of roses, and a blanket, he wrapped it in there somehow imprint her.

Festival starts at 16.30 clock with the procession and the traditional "MaƱanitas" with Mariachi, Cathedral Choir and renowned soloists.

The Mass was celebrated by 5 clock with Archbishop Jose H. Gomez.

Aztec dancers special traditional dances in honor of the Virgin Mary in the liturgy.

They will also perform in the Cathedral Plaza throughout the day.

Day festivities are celebrated with "Nochesitas" Mass in Spanish 19.00 Final, by Archbishop Jose H. Gomez.
