Patriots sign receivers Lloyd, Gonzalez

Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd is headed by the New England Patriots, who led the team with a deep threat to the already powerful offense to complete.

The 30-year-old on Saturday agreed to a deal with the team, according to ESPN sources. Details of the contract were not disclosed, but NFL.com reported it was a three-year contract worth $ 12 million.

Lloyd led the league with 1,448 meters to receive in 2010 for the Denver Broncos, catching passes of 77 and 11 of them for touchdowns.

He was traded to the St. Louis Rams last season after the Broncos switched to Tim Tebow at quarterback.

Lloyd 51 receptions for 683 yards and five touchdowns in 11 games was with the Rams.

The move will reunite with Lloyd Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who his head coach in Denver.

The duo also worked together during a short period McDaniels' Rams as offensive coordinator last season.

Lloyd gives the Patriots their first legitimate deep threat since Randy Moss was traded during the 2010 season. He was also the second receiver signed by the Patriots on Saturday, after former Colts wideout Anthony Gonzalez.

The 27-year-old Gonzalez was a first round draft pick in 2007 from Ohio State. In five seasons with the Colts, he had 99 receptions for 1,307 yards and seven touchdowns, but was plagued by injuries throughout his career. He is active for only 11 games since the 2008 season.

Gonzalez missed all but the first game of 2009 and all but two races in 2010 with knee injuries. He has a private function in eight games last year.

New England's All-Pro receiver Wes Welker is a free agent and the Patriots gave him the franchise tag, meaning that they pay compensation if anyone signs Welker.

ESPN reported that the Patriots also agreed to a deal with former Raiders defensive end Trevor Scott.

Redskins-Rams Trade: Cleveland Browns Come Up Biggest Losers In Robert Griffin III Sweepstakes

Yes, they are paid to the king's ransom. However, the Washington Redskins are hoping that Robert Griffin III will only change that for them - the next division of the King, which also boasts of Eli Manning, Tony Romo and Michael Vick. You can win the NFC East, Redskins simply could not throw the second season of Rex Grossman of the center (or some equivalent), so they did what they had to do.

It is a common theme of these teams in recent offseasons - doing what they should do. Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals would like to do the same Peyton Manning. And those teams that lost has to take a Plan B route, which is likely to lead to more mediocrity in 2012.

What are the other team, which loses all of this, Cleveland Browns do not seem to aim at any particular. Manning, sweepstakes, they do not and do not pull the trigger to move up and Griffin. Maybe they thought they had time. Maybe they did not agree on the price. Both are understandable, but now they sit Colt McCoy again, and the AFC North division that is likely to leave them to pick the top five in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Matthew Williamson viat Browns as good Scouts, Inc. He writes: "Yes, Washington gave up laskeutua ton of this potential phenomenon, but it is a cost of doing business. One thing I take away from this event will be ashamed of Cleveland for letting this happen. Browns were the driver's seat to move only two places for nature, but instead of becoming more powerful, they are likely to sign the aim of mediocrity and Matt Flynn or the use of the second round pick is a possibility, such as Brandon Weeden, or Kirk Cousins. Again, that aims at mediocrity. Griffin was just that the franchise and the city is needed, but the Browns did not get it done. "

Chiefs is essential in this document as well, although they are broken allowing them to be somewhat better than would be Brown. After all, they almost won the AFC West in the period in which they fired their head coach. But to compete with any higher level, commanders will have to find that at some point and urgency to make a play quarterback. Otherwise, they will continue to linger as the league average for a team for a while.

Could Randy Moss be a worthy gamble for Carolina Panthers?

Randy Moss turned 35 Monday. How old is 35? Carolina's Steve Smith will turn 33 in May.

What gives you everything, but a man? You give him a job.

Moss announced his retirement from Ustream.tv chat birthday that he is ending, and return to the NFL next season. Twitter Moss added: "Now back in biz!"

Why not go back to business in Charlotte?

I'm serious. Anything destructive Moss Moss in New England, and occasionally bored or disruptive Oakland, Minnesota, Tennessee or 2010 Moss Akın to the Panthers would have to jump.

Must submit to a check. Should be treated the same work as a serious candidate.

Moss did not play last season. Therefore, the need was.

What he learned in his time away from football?

Moss said he wanted to play the game. Commitment to his employer wants him to play?

Maybe I'll give him too much credit, but he did not have more than just lost? I know, they say the majority of high-level athletes in their sport that they have lost, after being part of a team.

Moss could not have evolved? Reputation are flexible, that it will be Cam Newton. Would not have invested in many groups (and forgotten) No. 1 pick, 2011 draft of Newton. Panthers, trust their instincts.

Newton drops back, and not the left, and Brandon Smith or David Gettis LaFell or Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey in the center, and a tall guy who was streaking down the right side? Hello, Randy.

Despite his age, Moss never has been a breakdown in the middle of the greatest receivers ever to live in, most receivers do not execute it. Smith will take a pass anywhere. Moss, 6-foot-4, and long-legged muscle, made his living on the edge of the zone, margins.

Margins are also spends his off-field are correct. A player can destroy a friendship in a changing room. Carolina failed to renew the contract when Keyshawn Johnson, the 6-4 receiver and now ESPN star, one of the Panthers said he wanted to throw a party. Panthers, who told me that this was not the recipient.

Moss behaved the Patriots [team stats] team leader for the first three seasons as a player - he is not an alternative. How strong is the Carolina locker room?

2012 Panthers Panthers are not idealistic past seasons. Workers no longer need to memorize the potential of the Boy Scout Manual. Praised owner Jerry Richardson, Newton's lack of tattoos, but Richardson was also enthusiastic about Shockey sign that the narrow end of 11 months.
